The latest Spoonflower design challenge is centered around the theme of Court Sports, perhaps influenced by the rising interest in Pickleball. Browsing through the first page of submissions, it was interesting to note that the shuttlecock emerged as a prominent motif. The range of sports represented was diverse, including badminton, tennis, basketball, volleyball, squash, and of course, pickleball. However, there were also some unexpected entries, such as marbles? foos-ball?
From my selection of top twelve designs, my favorite was "(L) Badminton Blossoms off white green" by sanne_paul. The whimsical concept of shuttlecocks sprouting from vines is both creative and charming, offering a delightful twist on the theme.
An exciting development with this challenge is the introduction of new digital proofing, which means most of the designs are already available for sale. This feature enhances the immediacy and accessibility of the designs, something that I greatly appreciate.
